The Cast of Romeo & Juliet

"At the conclusion of their first performance earlier this year, the students you are about to see upon the stage were excitedly waiting for the announcement of their next play, along with discovering the roles that they were to play. In the brief time that has passed since then, I have seen them blossom into the fine young performers you will see tonight. Some I have known and worked with previously, others I am working with for the first time this year, but all of them have come leaps and bounds over the past weeks.

To their credit, the task of putting together a production of one of Shakespeare's greatest works in only five weeks is an arduous task, and while we have all had our moments of stress, they have all overcome the tasks put to them and have created a work that is solely their own.

Directing Romeo & Juliet for me has presented a lot of firsts. I broke one of my cardinal rules that I set myself when I first started working in theatre.

Never, ever, under any circumstances, mess with The Bard.

Unfortunatley, have only a cast of 10 and six of them being females, I had no choice. The result, is a unique take on the classic tale, and one that I think you will enjoy. I am incredibly proud of each and every one of these talented individuals, and I know that they will be able to go as far as they allow their dreams to take them. Please give them your undivided attention.

I guarantee you won't be disappointed."
