Our Final Major Season for Production Class 2012
The Senior Production Class is one of our flagship classes, designed to cater for those senior students willing to take on difficult take and performances throughout the school year.
The class deals with heavier and more demanding aspects of performance, from developing character right through to the execution on stage and even production design.
First offered to students in 2009, the class opened with a mere nine students, ranging in age from 13 through to 18. The class presented a variety workshop production, called 'Irrelevance' (as none of the scenes or self-devised monologues had any apparent co-relation to each other) as well as the William Shakespeare classic, Romeo & Juliet. They closed out the year, after gaining two additional students, with a production of Louis Nowra's 'Cosi', to packed out audiences across the short season.
In 2012, the students presented Arthur Miller's classic 'The Crucible', to sell out audiences across the season, and presented a mature and wonderfully passionate retelling of the classic.
Now, in it's fourth year, the numbers have grown to more than twenty, and the students are gearing up to present their final season for 2012, 'Twelfth Night' written by William Shakespeare, and 'Antigone' by Jean Anouilh, in December.
